Educational Objectives
Educational objectives of Nanoscience & Nanoengineering program can be summarized as:
The main aim of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology program is to develop an understanding of the fundamental structure of matter, in order to control its behavior at the nanometric scale, and to use this knowledge to design and develop new products and systems that could have a major bearing on a wide range of areas of special socioeconomic significance, for example:
– Medicine and pharmacy
– Biotechnology
– Food and chemistry
– Materials development and characterization
– Energy and the environment
These are fields in which interdisciplinary graduate training is essential to meet the increasing demand for research and for professionals with experience in nanotechnology.
The aim of the getting degree in NSE program is to train competent professionals in this field, in industrial and scientific aspects. Therefore, students who join the Program should be versatile enough to have general knowledge on diverse topics as biology, physics, chemistry or engineering, and must be capable of acting as a link between professionals who work in one of these areas specifically.
– Contribution of the training of young scientists and researchers to meet the needs of our country
– Providing skilled labor to establish nanotechnology related new commercial processes with high economic impact
– Supporting the development of high value added products
– Taking the initiative for working in multi- and/or interdisciplinary research and R&D
